Daily responsibilities include:
- Prepare and configure CNC grinder machines according to engineering specifications, including loading programs, setting tools, and adjusting machine parameters.
- Accurately read blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings to understand part specifications and grinding requirements.
- Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to inspect finished parts and ensure they meet tight tolerances and quality standards.
- Continuously observe grinding processes, making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal machine performance and part accuracy.
- Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of machines and tooling and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime and ensure workplace safety.
Experience needed:
- Minimum 2 years in a CNC grinder / turner capacity
- Using a GER vertical grinding machine be able to program set and operate using a Fanuc control system
- Be capable of reading drawings using various inspection equipment for holding tight tolerances on DIAs and faces
- Be able to use slings/cranes to take parts on/off machines
Hours of work: 0700-1530 Monday to Friday.
