As a Junior Planner, you will gain hands-on experience in construction planning, supporting the development and management of project programmes. Working closely with the planning and project delivery teams, you’ll learn to use planning tools, understand construction processes, and contribute to successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initial Training & Development:
- Learn to use Asta Powerproject to create, link, and update programmes.
- Prepare basic quantity take-offs and convert to build durations.
- Develop logical construction programmes (e.g. house/factory build).
- Identify the critical path and produce drop-line reports.
- Attend live sites and assist in monitoring and reporting against programmes.
- Create short-term and recovery programmes.
- Support tender planning by interpreting drawings, contracts, and key milestones.
- Liaise with project teams to track progress and adjust programmes as needed.
- Gain knowledge of JCT, NEC, and ECC3 contracts.
- Contribute to handover meetings and planning best practices.
- Assist in tender programme production and quality submissions.
- Produce scaffold schedules, cost plan programmes, and EOT claims.
- Integrate H&S planning and value engineering into programmes.
- Engage with subcontractors to optimise build and procurement durations.
- Support development of planning procedures and departmental best practices.
- Participate in training and suggest improvements to systems and workflows.
- Promote teamwork and uphold QEMS, IP05, and IP06 compliance.
