The predicted salary is between 31200 - 41600 £ per year.
With a highly regarded restaurant & bar serving superb traditional pub favourites and seasonal dishes to our 40-cover restaurant & 30 cover bar area. The Star Inn is a privately owned & operated pub, without ties to a brewery or franchise. This would be an exciting opportunity to work closely with the owners & the Head Chef to develop an appealing & high-quality menu.
The Role:
- Assist in developing new dishes and overhauling menus to attract more clientele to the restaurant.
- Ensuring that guests receive excellent & speedy service and enjoy their culinary experience from start to finish.
- Preparing dishes in a timely & cost-effective way utilising efficient preparation methods, such as some pre-prepared or frozen products.
- Assisting with managing the inventory and ordering food stock as needed whilst always maintaining the kitchen's budget & good value for money for the business.
- Adhere to quality, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Staying up-to-date with culinary trends and kitchen processes.
- Comply with all relevant Health & Safety, HACCP & Food Safety Standards including a working knowledge of allergens & food intolerances.
- Take on Head Chef responsibilities in the Head Chef's absence, during holidays etc.
The Hours:
40 hour plus week on a rolling rota. Specific days & hours to be discussed.

- The ability to constantly perform well in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills to assist with the smooth running of a kitchen.
- Ambition to progress in the hospitality industry & work closely with a progressive & ambitious team.
- Good leadership skills and the ability to work on your own on occasions.
- Creativity and good culinary skills to assist in developing an exciting menu.

Pay: £15/16 hour
