Air Import Operator, Night Shift

Our client, an excelling company with management of regular commercial freight logistics, specialising in providing comprehensive services for the movement of high-niche market products are looking to recruit an Air Import Operator, Night Shift to be based in their head office within the Heathrow Area. On Offer: * Internationally diverse, sociable, dynamic team with a clear vision and strategy * 21 days holiday a year plus bank holidays * Fast-paced environment with lots of room for creative freedom * 4 on 4 off Shift Pattern, 7pm – 7am Main Purpose of the Role: Reporting to the Air Freight Manager, the Air Import Operator will join a dynamic Air Freight Forwarding Team. The aim is to help drive the Air Freight Forwarding team forward, assisting with the day-to-day management of air import operations. Duties and Responsibilities: * To arrange the importation of cargo by air * Develop working relationships with customers. * Liaise with all relevant internal departments with regards to shipments. * Liaise with Airlines for BI and Shed transfers * Arrange airline collection for transfer to ETSF * Liaise with HMRC, Port & Plant Health/DEFRA and other government bodies * Organise import clearances, PEACH entries and correct documentation relating to the movement of cargo * Provide a high level of customer service * Key point of contact for Air Import Perishable customers * Liaise with overseas offices, partners and agents * Providing import quotations for potential and current customer base * Issue Invoices to customers * Loading costs onto job record * Reviews and addresses accounting discrepancies * Dealing with any queries or problems with regards to customers and shipments. * Dealing with Rates, Accounts, Invoices and claims. * Complete distribution reports and courier documentation To Be Considered: * Proven experience in the freight forwarding industry handing air import operations * Experience working with perishables is preferred * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise their workload and multi-task effectively * Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks to tight deadlines * Providing relevant information to enable effective decision making * Willing to support wider team as needed * Experience with Cargo Wise would be an advantage For more details, contact Willis Global – a leading Recruitment Consultancy for the Supply Chain & Logistics industry
