Are you an organised and driven legal support professional looking to make a difference in a fast-paced legal environment? We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Professional Support team member to join our Commercial and Employment Team in Truro.
Role Purpose
To provide comprehensive professional support to the lawyers within our Legal Services team, ensuring the smooth coordination of legal casework and documentation, including managing the case management system, digital typing, and administering the Legal Helpline. You will also contribute to wider Assurance Service support as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile, amend, scan, print, and complete legal contracts and documents
- Correspond with clients, legal teams, and third parties in a professional manner
- Provide high-level administrative support to fee earners and legal professionals
- Coordinate and maintain accurate records within the case management system
- Arrange and support meetings, telephone conferences, and Court Hearings (including booking Counsel/Barristers)
- Provide cover during colleague absence and maintain shared inboxes/diaries
- Respond to client enquiries and operate the Legal Helpline
- Attend, minute, and transcribe confidential meetings
- Support the training and induction of new or temporary staff
- Maintain the Legal Library and secure storage areas (Strong Room)
- Handle digital and audio typing, and general legal secretarial duties
- Process all incoming/outgoing correspondence efficiently
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a legal support or secretarial role
- Audio/digital typing skills (RSA II minimum or equivalent)
- A Levels, NVQ3, Secretarial Diploma, ILEX, or equivalent qualification
- Strong IT and case management system experience
- High level of accuracy, discretion, and professionalism
