Project Overview: We are seeking an experienced Demolition Site Manager to lead and oversee the full demolition of a warehouse and associated office blocks in Bedford. The successful candidate will have proven experience in managing demolition projects involving licensed asbestos removal and will be responsible for ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage day-to-day site operations during the demolition phase.
- Ensure all works, including asbestos removal, are carried out in line with HSE regulations and company standards.
- Coordinate and manage demolition contractors, asbestos removal teams, plant operators, and other subcontractors.
- Liaise with the project team, client, and external stakeholders as required.
- Maintain accurate site records including RAMS, daily diaries, permits, and H&S documentation.
- Conduct regular site inspections, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and quality standards.
- Manage site logistics, including traffic management and waste disposal.
- Ensure the site is kept tidy and secure at all times.
Requirements:
- SMSTS – Site Management Safety Training Scheme (Valid and in date)
- CSCS Card – Black/Gold (Manager Level)
- Asbestos Awareness (minimum) – Licensed Asbestos Supervisor/Manager ticket highly desirable
- Demolition Qualification – CCDO (ideally Gold Card or above)
- First Aid at Work (Valid)
- Fire Marshal (Preferred)
- Proven track record managing demolition and asbestos-related projects
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Able to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications
