Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Field Based Business Development Executive for our client based in the South Lanarkshire area.
Role Overview:
This is a newly created opportunity for a motivated business development professional to join a dynamic and growing company within the building services industry, specialising in refrigeration and air conditioning. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in generating new business and expanding the company’s presence across the hospitality and retail sectors. This position offers genuine career progression and the potential to establish and lead a sales team in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and build a database of prospective SME clients within the hospitality sector, including takeaways, restaurants, cafés, and convenience stores across Lanarkshire and Glasgow.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships to generate enquiries for maintenance contracts and new design, supply, and installation projects.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and design team to manage enquiries and ensure accurate quotations are produced.
- Present quotations to clients, follow up on proposals, resolve any queries, and negotiate to successfully close sales.
- Leverage existing client relationships to identify opportunities with multi-site operators and independent businesses.
- Expand your professional network and actively raise the company’s profile across the target market.
- Operate independently to grow a new business function and support the development of a future sales team.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience with sales / business development position successfully selling into SME businesses within hospitality, such as takeaways, restaurants, cafés, and convenience stores.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take full ownership of the sales process.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and proactive approach.
- Commercially astute, with a keen eye for identifying and capitalising on business opportunities.
- Track record of building relationships and successfully closing sales.
- Full UK driving licence required.
