NPD Engineer

Due to expansion and progression within the New Product Development (NPD) department, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated Product Design Engineer to join my client’s engineering team. This role blends theoretical and practical work, closely collaborating with the established NPD team to test and validate innovative ideas and theories. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, this key position will play a critical role in bringing innovative products, product enhancements, and advanced technologies to market. Based primarily in the NPD laboratory, the role focuses on development testing of pumping systems and associated technologies. Key responsibilities of the New Product Development Engineer include: * Helping with the design, construction, and adaptation of testing apparatus. * Carrying out various tests related to pumps and pump technologies. * Maintaining and improving the NPD testing facilities. * Managing testing workflows across multiple development projects. * Coordinating NPD activities within a busy manufacturing environment. * Supporting client demonstrations and training events. The skills required for the New Product Design Engineer include: * Working knowledge of centrifugal pumps and testing methods * Use of instrumentation systems (pressure, temperature, flow, etc) * Mechanical Engineering Degree, HNC or equivalent Benefits: Including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Pension 4% employer / employee, Life Assurance – 4 x salary, Bonus Programme (up to 6% base), cycle to work scheme The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with good problem-solving skills and be commercially aware.
