Deploy, supervise and control all resources within a multi-trade repairs team providing a repairs service for housing and non-housing work to internal and external customers, providing information and recommendations to management on operational matters and working closely with other colleagues and supervisors.

This post is not office based, with most of the time spent out on site planning, supervising and organising the teams of in-house employees and subcontractors across a wide range of trades. The candidate will have completed a CITB City and Guilds Apprenticeship, be driven to achieve completion of properties within the given time scales and work as part of their team. They should be hard working and able to motivate others, have a flexible approach and a flair for problem solving.

One of the key points shall be to have a keen eye and attention to detail, be able to build a good rapport with their teams, subcontractors, Clerk of Works, and administrative staff. This role may require flexible, out of hours and weekend working. An Aberdeenshire Council van is attached to this post for work use. This post will be mainly working in the central south area of Aberdeenshire.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post has a minimum requirement of one reference, which must be your current or most recent employer.
