Deputy Head of Quality Assurance within HIGHER EDUCATION
Location: Birmingham OR Manchester OR London (Rosebery Avenue)
Type: Hybrid & mainly at home working with ad hoc travel as required
Do you have experience within the education sector, ideally managing a small team and dealing with all aspects of OfS regulations (the Office for Students Regulator) and quality assurance matters?
About our role:
You will work closely with the Director of Quality Assurance. Our role is instrumental to ensuring adherence to the highest standards of educational excellence. Collaborating with colleagues in the Quality & Academic Teams, you will develop and implement robust quality assurance policies and procedures to uphold regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Through meticulous data analysis and reporting, you will provide insights to drive continuous improvement initiatives across academic programmes, services, and processes. You will have sound knowledge of quality assurance matters, attend committee meetings, take minutes, and follow up on agenda items related to student matters. You will work closely with university partners and awarding bodies, advising internal teams on relevant matters.
Key responsibilities:
- Gathering information; quantitative and qualitative data on departments, systems, or processes and evaluating performance against criteria.
- Assist with developing QAHE’s Management and Governance arrangements in line with OfS principles.
- Oversee quality assurance procedures across QAHE’s university partners, including annual monitoring, external examiner responses, and student engagement.
- Work with the Director on reviews with regulators such as OfS, QAA, BAC, and BC.
- Advise staff on maintaining and enhancing academic quality and standards, including regulatory frameworks.
- Deputise for the Director of Quality Assurance as required.
