We’re seeking experienced and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join a dynamic children’s residential home in Barnet that provides a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for young people facing complex behavioural challenges.
About the Role:
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll be part of a close-knit team delivering person-centred care and support to children and young people who may present with:
- Social, Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD)
- Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB)
- Self-harm and missing-from-home incidents
- Gang affiliation, CSE, and CCE risks
- Attachment disorders, complex and chronic trauma
- Mental health concerns and substance misuse
You will play a vital role in helping each child feel safe, supported, and empowered to reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support young people in line with their individual care plans
- Promote positive behaviour, daily routines, and life skills
- Engage in recreational activities, outings, and holidays
- Build trusting relationships with young people and professionals
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing home environment
- Support safeguarding, emotional regulation, and therapeutic approaches
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 1 year of experience supporting children and young people with complex behavioural issues
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
- Flexibility to work a varied rota including weekends and long days
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Calm, resilient, and committed to making a difference
Please note: candidates with only Learning Disability experience will not be suitable unless they also have the required behavioural experience.
Shift Patterns:
- 7:00am – 2:00pm (Early)
- 2:00pm – 9:00pm (Late)
- 8:00am – 8:00pm (Long Day)
