Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people? We’re seeking experienced and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join a dynamic children’s residential home in Barnet that provides a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for young people facing complex behavioural challenges.

About the Role:

As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll be part of a close-knit team delivering person-centred care and support to children and young people who may present with:

  • Social, Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD)
  • Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB)
  • Self-harm and missing-from-home incidents
  • Gang affiliation, CSE, and CCE risks
  • Attachment disorders, complex and chronic trauma
  • Mental health concerns and substance misuse

You will play a vital role in helping each child feel safe, supported, and empowered to reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support young people in line with their individual care plans
  • Promote positive behaviour, daily routines, and life skills
  • Engage in recreational activities, outings, and holidays
  • Build trusting relationships with young people and professionals
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing home environment
  • Support safeguarding, emotional regulation, and therapeutic approaches

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting children and young people with complex behavioural issues
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
  • Flexibility to work a varied rota including weekends and long days
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Calm, resilient, and committed to making a difference

Please note: candidates with only Learning Disability experience will not be suitable unless they also have the required behavioural experience.

Shift Patterns:

  • 7:00am – 2:00pm (Early)
  • 2:00pm – 9:00pm (Late)
  • 8:00am – 8:00pm (Long Day)
