A boutique practice in Birmingham is seeking an ambitious Assistant Manager or Manager to join their team. You will work across a broad range of clients in all sectors on various technical advisory and compliance-oriented projects.
What I am looking for:
- Minimum of three years' experience (Assistant Manager) or four years' experience (Manager) in an indirect tax role either in professional practice, at HMRC or in industry (or a mixture of all three).
- CTA and/or ACA qualified (preferred although not essential).
- Experience of dealing directly with clients.
- A good working knowledge/experience of the key relevant areas of tax involved in Indirect Taxation, including:
- End-to-End M&A transactions - working with the wider tax due diligence teams by providing support on identifying material VAT-related risks and opportunities.
- Maximising VAT recovery on professional costs incurred by businesses undertaking M&A activity.
- Real estate transactions for residential and commercial developers and investors.
- Post-Brexit complex international supply chains likely to give rise to additional VAT compliance and reporting requirements.
- Partial exemption methodology and product liability reviews for businesses in the FS, Real Estate and Health & Welfare sectors.
Only those applicants who have a legal right to work in the UK and have an appropriate amount of practical relevant UK indirect tax experience will be considered for this role.
