Hays is exclusively partnering with a dynamic business in Shrewsbury to recruit an experienced Payroll, HR, and Accounts Assistant to join their team.
Your new role
This role offers a diverse and engaging range of responsibilities across HR, payroll, and accounts:
- HR Functions
- Drafting employment contracts for new starters
- Ensuring all new starter documentation is updated and maintained
- Tracking sickness and managing sick notes for all employees as needed
- Assisting managers with return-to-work procedures following employee sickness
- Supporting directors and managers in handling employee relations, liaising with a third-party HR provider
- Collaborating with the third-party HR provider to keep the employee handbook up to date and ensure compliance with all necessary policies
- Gathering hours worked from managers and calculating gross pay, including overtime based on established pay rates
- Receiving and processing bonus details from managers
- Calculating commissions for sales teams
- Maintaining a comprehensive master file of employee rates, hours, contracted days, and other relevant details
- Submitting payroll data to the payroll provider
- Reviewing payroll reports to ensure accuracy before finalisation
- Reconciling pension reports against pension payments for precision
- Reporting new starters, leavers, and other required updates to the payroll provider
- Assisting with financial functions based on experience, including purchase ledger, cash book processing, and intercompany recharges
