Software Engineer (East Ayrshire)

LYNK has partnered with a long-established IT Managed Services provider to recruit a Software Developer. The company has been in operation for over 30 years, with a 50-person headcount and a small, collaborative development team of four. This is a hands-on role working on clinical software used in healthcare settings — with a focus on rebuilding and modernising existing applications.

You’ll be central to the migration of a cross-platform application from Xamarin to .NET MAUI, while contributing to the evolution of clinical systems that directly support better patient outcomes. There may be occasional involvement in smaller web-based projects, but the core focus is back-end healthcare systems development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of applications from Xamarin to .NET MAUI
• Design and maintain clinical systems using C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET
• Build and manage RESTful APIs and secure data services
• Use MySQL and Entity Framework for healthcare data management
• Integrate with clinical systems such as EMIS, Vision, and SystmOne
• Deploy applications in Microsoft Azure environments
• Provide third-line support and continuous improvement
• Collaborate across compliance, infrastructure, and data functions

About You

• Previous experience developing software in a healthcare or clinical environment
• Ideally – solid experience with the Microsoft development stack (C#, .NET, ASP.NET), although other stacks would be considered
• Comfortable working with MySQL and managing structured data
• Hands-on integration with systems like EMIS, Vision, or SystemOne
