As Assistant Commercial Manager, you will provide exceptional commercial advice to the operational leads to drive revenues, improve forecasted profit margins and be responsible for implementation of commercial risk management through project review procedures and contract negotiations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Manage and oversee the commercial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners.
- Monitor and manage project risks and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present commercial reports and proposals to senior management.
- Provide pre and post commercial advice/support to the operational teams.
- Be influential in the maximisation of profit margins.
- Liaise with operational and finance colleagues to ensure that work in progress and debt levels are managed.
- Review and interrogate Cost Value Reconciliations/Contract Reviews.
- Work effectively with the project teams in the early identification of cost overspend to minimise profit leakage.
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Ensure that all contract documents are thoroughly reviewed and properly executed in line with the Company’s procedures, prior to project commencement.
- Previous experience in a Commercial Managers position within a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of commercial practices, contract management, and financial principles.
- A skilled Negotiator with proven experience in a commercial environment.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- You will be educated to a degree standard within a relevant industry although applications by people qualified by experience is also encouraged.
- Professional certification.
- Full UK Driving License.
