The predicted salary is between 20000 - 28000 £ per year.
Reporting to the Health Safety and Environmental Manager, supporting the Plant Leadership teams in maintaining site cleanliness and waste management. The role will require a Counterbalance license to enable the loading of the waste compactors and waste storage and disposal by loading the collection vehicles. You will assist the Production departments by moving the full waste bins from the departments, use waste compactor equipment to compress the waste and unload the mill sized 500kg bales and store them in the waste holding area. Clean the waste bins with the pressure washer systems available and then taking back to the production in a clean and tidy condition.
Key accountabilities, deliverables & KPIs:
- Counterbalance FLT license required / essential
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Hazardous Waste yard management control, segregation and disposal
- Managing deliveries and collections and liaising with Haulage contractors
- Contractor Compound support
- Operating / loading / cleaning the waste compactors
- Cleaning the waste areas using power tools and systems available to keep impeccable cleanliness standards in the yard and on site
- Moving the waste bins by hand from the factory waste departments to the compactors
- Emptying and washing the wheeled waste bins
- Recycling the waste streams from the site in the correct waste compactors
- Baling of the waste - storing and managing the waste streams held in the yard
- Ordering collection vehicles for the waste streams
- Loading recyclable items onto the correct vehicles for waste disposal
- Housekeeping of the external areas perimeter, yard, car parks, and internal waste bin storage points
- General painting and upkeep of the drain covers, drainage systems, logistics loading areas
- General upkeep of the hedgerows where required
- Manually moving the waste streams / bins within the factories, segregating the waste and disposing as per the company policies
- Training internal staff on compactor use and operation
- Using industrial cleaning equipment to maintain cleanliness (such as pressure washer and hose system)
- Ensuring the yard is always kept clean and hazard free
- Acting as vehicle support to guide vehicles to the correct unload / load locations
- Working internally and externally to support Factory 1, 2 & 3 for health and hygiene
- Emptying the static site waste bins replacing the black bin liners
- Weekly litter picking around the site
- 5S management of the external parts of the site
- Undertaking general activities to repair and maintain the external site systems
- Supporting Site Services Engineering team for general work / reactive repair and labouring works as and when required
- Supporting the Health, Safety & Environmental team - managing spills and leaks
- Providing groundwork support for the site road and pathways
This role is fully onsite and will be working on a 4on 4off shift pattern 7am-7pm. Looking to start ASAP. This role will be temp to perm for the right applicant.
