Our client is a family-owned business operating in Trafford Park, Manchester. The business utilises waste materials to produce top quality packaging solutions to a wide range of industries.

A vacancy currently exists for a Site Chemist to work within the company’s outdoor operational site. Work will be split between the company’s main yard in Trafford Park and customer premises in Eccles.

The role will include:

  • Management of waste stored on both sites
  • Acceptance of waste at the main yard
  • Basic effluent testing and sampling
  • Assessment of chemical waste at third party sites
  • Dispatch operations
  • Other associated tasks

Alongside this, you will provide technical assessment of waste and advise site staff on health and safety/handling requirements. You will also support management in delivering high quality recycled products whilst working within the site QMS guidelines.

There will also be some yard work to aid the team as a whole, and therefore a willingness to undertake physical work outside in open warehouses all year round is a necessity. You will be working 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. There is flexibility with regards to start and finish times either side of the core hours of 1pm – 6pm. Full training and PPE will be given to the successful applicant.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A degree in Chemistry or related subject
  • Previous experience in a similar site-based role to include operating a forklift truck
  • Clean driving license
  • IT competent - Excel/Word/Outlook
  • Good people and communication skills
