Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Gas Turbines)\\nLocation: Derby, UK\\nJob Type: Contract (Outside IR35)\\nRate: £40-45 per hour\\nWorking Model: HYBRID – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote\\n\\nKey Requirements:\\n\\n * Must have prior experience with Gas Turbines\\n\\n * Must have Aerospace industry background\\n\\nJob Description:\\nWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with demonstrable experience in gas turbine components and an aerospace background. The successful candidate will contribute to high-impact projects involving the design, analysis, and certification of advanced aero engine components.\\nKey Responsibilities:\\n\\n * Lead and support the design and modification of low pressure turbine components such as discs, airfoils, seals, and attachment parts.\\n\\n * Contribute to advanced design programs including:\\n\\n * Open-rotor gas turbines\\n\\n * Compact high-pressure cores\\n\\n * Hybrid-electric propulsion architectures\\n\\n * Systems designed for alternative fuels and novel materials\\n\\n * Produce and review technical documentation including certification reports, design record books, and component definitions.\\n\\n * Perform layout assessments, clash checks, and account for materials, weights, and tolerances.\\n\\n * Work within cross-functional teams to ensure quality design execution and integration.\\n\\n * Apply engineering best practices and industry standards throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI)lifecycle.\\n\\n * Stay abreast of cutting-edge developments in gas turbine technology, materials, and manufacturing methods.\\n\\n * Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring as needed.\\n\\nIdeal Candidate Will Have:\\n\\n * Strong hands-on experience with rotor and airfoil design within aerospace gas turbines.\\n\\n * In-depth understanding of mechanical design principles applied in aerospace applications.\\n\\n * Experience working in a regulated aerospace environment, ideally with exposure to certification processes.\\n\\n * Effective collaboration and communication skills within multi-disciplinary teams.\\n\\n * A proactive mindset toward problem-solving, innovation, and continuous improvement
