A permanent vacancy has arisen within our Production Engineering Section for an Environmental & Compliance Advisor. Supporting the Senior Environmental & Compliance Advisor to assist in compliance deliverables. The successful candidate's main focus will be to provide expert environmental advice, to ensure that our clients' site complies with all applicable environmental regulations, and to assist with implementing business operating improvements to achieve our clients' objectives in the drive to Net Zero.
Salary - Up to £45,000 (Dependant on experience)
Hours of work: 7am – 4pm (Monday – Thursday) - 7am - 12 Fridays.
The main duties of the post involve:
- Ensuring all aspects of Environmental, Safety and Quality are documented and embedded into our processes.
- Feedback and provide technical expertise in the understanding, interpretation and implementation of relevant directives to the business.
- Assist operations management in maintaining compliance with environmental related matters and investigate any issues.
- Work as a member of the Engineering/Facilities and Maintenance team to advise and highlight any Environmental issues that may affect the business.
- Understanding of COSHH management and implementation.
- Support the business with requirements of relevant standards and regulations including ISO14001 and ESOS/SECR/PAS2060.
- Prepare, obtain and maintain plans, permits and standard operating procedures (effluent discharge permits, emissions etc.).
- Data gathering and analysis and reporting for Environmental matters, including energy use.
- Consultation/briefings with various levels of staff & management within the business and third parties for decarbonising projects and initiatives.
Key skills, knowledge and experience required:
- Preferably 3-5 years of environment or compliance experience.
- Degree in a suitable subject preferable.
- Environmental/sustainability graduates welcome to apply.
- Experience with managing third party audits.
- Project management experience (preferable).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation.
- Working knowledge of ISO14001 and PAS 2060 (auditing experience).
- Understanding of F-Gas regulations – (preferable).
