Due to an increase in workload, my client, a leading engineering company based near Elland, is looking to recruit a Quality Inspector to join their existing team on a permanent basis. Candidates will be required to inspect a range of machined components using a variety of dimensional inspection equipment (Micrometers/Verniers), CMM, and FaroArm (training provided where needed). Candidates must have a demonstrable background within a quality inspection role and be experienced in reading engineering drawings, working with dimensional inspection equipment, and checking accompanying documentation. Experience with CMM is essential, and experience with Aberlink / PC-DMIS is highly advantageous.
Hours: 4 day week Monday β Thursday OR Tuesday β Friday. Overtime available, all paid at premium rates.
Role Description:
- Carry out dimensional and visual inspection of components and assemblies.
- Undertake validation and control of inspection, test & witness activities.
- Create non-conformance reports.
- Provide containment on quality concerns.
- Maintain & control calibration of company equipment (including system).
- Assist in the general operation of the Quality Control department.
- Assist in internal audit process to ensure adherence.
- Represent the company with customers, auditors, and 3rd party inspectors to ensure smooth operation of on-site client inspection/witness.
- Provide technical assistance and problem resolution on customer, auditor, and 3rd party internal quality control issues.
- Develop and drive process improvement towards excellence, βbest in classβ.
- Undertake assignments as directed by the Quality Control Coordinator.
- Customer/Supplier contact either directly with the customer or with 3rd party inspectors.
- Ensure use of calibrated gauges.
- Operate in line with the vision set out by the Quality department.
- Ensure all work personally undertaken is carried out in compliance with current H&S rules and safety systems and is in line with the requirements of the duty of care document.
- Goods Receiving, In Process, and Final Inspection.
Skills & Attributes:
- Time served in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Conversant in the use of traditional measuring equipment Micrometers/Verniers.
- Experienced in the use of CMM / FaroArm.
- Experience as a Quality Inspector within an Engineering/Manufacturing environment.
- Experience inspecting machined/fabricated components.
