This small contractor has been established for over 20 years and is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their business on a full-time basis. Specialising in both refurbishment and new build, the majority of their focus is on both residential and commercial projects ranging up to the value of £15 million.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with all other departments within the company helping to deliver extremely high-quality projects, all of which will be of bespoke design and specification.
Duties- Full commercial management across multiple live projects
- Ensure all commercial agreements and subcontracts adhere to the Quality manual and be familiar with all commercial processes at site, business unit, company and JV level, as well as a good understanding of the wider processes and procedures in use.
- Lead subcontract procurement and negotiation
- Monthly CVRs, forecasts, and P&L reporting
- Support pre-contract negotiations and regularly review the contract documentation to keep the project team on course.
- Support dispute resolution, claims, and contractual compliance
- Oversee all project variations.
- Advise on legal/contractual risks and ensure documentation is in order
- Ensure robust project controls and documentation systems
- Work closely with Operations and Estimating on delivery strategy
- Drive efficiency and maximise profitability across contracts
- Previous experience of working on construction projects between the value of £1m - £20m either with a well-established main contractor and/or developer.
- 7 - 10 years working for an established main contractor in a commercial capacity
- Confident communicator with both clients and internal teams
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar field (preferred but not essential)
- Full UK Driving Licence
