Role Overview:
The company is seeking a proactive and people-focused HR / Business Support Manager to join their close-knit team. This is a varied and rewarding role that blends HR, finance support, and cultural leadership, supporting both operational efficiency and team wellbeing. The successful candidate will be the key figure ensuring smooth day-to-day business support while also championing internal culture and engagement. From onboarding new employees like royalty on Day 1 to coordinating wellbeing events such as Park Runs and Three Peaks challenges, this individual will help build a positive, inclusive, and energetic workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- HR & People Support: Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes, creating a seamless and welcoming experience for new starters. Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and HR policies. Support line managers with HR queries, documentation, and performance processes. Ensure HR compliance and assist with recruitment coordination and employee development activities.
- Finance Admin Support: Provide support with basic finance administration, including invoice tracking, expenses, and payroll preparation. Work with the finance team to ensure smooth reporting, budgeting assistance, and purchase order documentation. Help ensure financial records are well maintained and compliant.
- Business & Culture: Lead and coordinate wellbeing initiatives and internal events such as Park Runs, fitness competitions, and charity challenges. Foster a strong internal community by promoting team engagement, communication, and collaboration. Organise internal communications and regular company updates. Provide general business support to the leadership team and wider office.
Candidate Profile:
- Experience in a similar HR / business support or office manager-style role.
- A warm, approachable personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised, proactive, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of basic finance admin processes or a willingness to learn quickly.
- Ideally, experience in the construction or project-based industry.
