Estimator – Civil Engineering (Specialist) First People Solutions are delighted to be working on behalf of our client to recruit a skilled Estimator for a specialist Civils company based in Greater Glasgow. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in estimating, ideally within civil engineering, roads, flooring, concrete. Location: Greater Glasgow Salary: £38k – £42k Flexibility: Occasional working away from home Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate estimates for concrete-related civil engineering projects Develop detailed cost breakdowns and project budgets Analyse and understand programming and temporary works requirements Utilise estimating procedures efficiently, with a structured and analytical approach Collaborate with project teams to gather essential data Maintain and update records using Excel (proficiency required) Ideal Candidate: Background in Estimating or Quantity Surveying, ideally within civil engineering Understanding of estimating procedures and the ability to apply them practically Site experience or exposure would be beneficial but not essential Skilled in analysing data, forecasting costs, and managing project budgets Strong organisational and problem-solving skills This role is perfect for an Estimator who is not solely site-based but has some relevant site exposure.
