We are supporting a global manufacturing business to appoint a skilled Welder for their growing team. This is a 4-day working week which is Monday – Thursday, 06:00 -16:30 (40 hours). Overtime is available, but at the standard rate.

Responsibilities

  • Be familiar with and able to use plant for TIG and MIG welding process
  • Ability to fabricate, demonstrate skills relating to measuring, drilling, cutting etc
  • Follow drawings and paperwork provided to produce product requirements
  • Notify Team Leader on duty of any discrepancies
  • Weld equipment to the required level to meet customer expectation of quality
  • Responsible for producing high quality products
  • Seek ways to improve processes and performance in line with company continuous improvement program
  • Responsible for ensuring allocated tasks are conducted in a safe manner in accordance with applicable standards, company procedures/policies

Skills and experiences required

  • Tig & Aluminum welding experience
  • City & Guilds or equivalent welding qualification preferred
  • Able to read and understand manufacturing drawings
  • Forklift truck license beneficial, but not essential
  • Overhead crane or jib crane certificate beneficial, but not essential
  • Honest and trustworthy
  • Good time keeping
  • Prepared to work flexible hours when required
  • Ability to work as part of a team and can work under own initiative
  • Problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills
