As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting measurement activities to ensure compliance with technical drawings, including first-off, in-process, and final inspections. You will utilise a range of metrology equipment, from handheld mechanical measuring tools to CNC CMMs. The primary objective of this role is to verify that CNC machined components meet the required specifications and stage instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform first-off and in-process inspections in line with customer and company requirements to ensure conformity to technical specifications.
  • Conduct final inspections, record and report FAI results, and verify compliance with technical drawings.
  • Carry out goods-inward inspections of sub-contract-supplied products and services.
  • Create and maintain programmes for CNC and manual CMMs.
  • Complete NCRs using the production database system.
  • Support root cause analysis using quality tools such as 5 Whys and 8D methodology.
  • Recommend improvements and corrective actions based on root cause analysis findings.
  • Communicate updates on non-conforming components with the Quality and Production Managers.
  • Ensure all measuring equipment is maintained and calibrated in accordance with company and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of all calibration activities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Conduct internal quality audits in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
  • Complete and maintain material traceability documentation.
  • Participate in VA/VE projects to support business objectives.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area free of debris.

Education and Experience:

  • A-levels (or equivalent) in Mathematics and Science or Level 1 Engineering qualification or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Quality Control role.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse technical drawings.
  • Understanding of GD & T.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week M-Th (Apply online only) (Inc ½ unpaid break) Friday 07.00 – 13.00.
