Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a fast-paced and highly respected contractor delivering a wide range of construction and M&E (mechanical & electrical) projects. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience managing projects independently and will play a key role in the commercial delivery of multiple live sites. Projects typically range in value from Β£100k to Β£2 million, and the role includes responsibility for cost reporting, procurement, and handling variations. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to avoid the more rigid structure of a Senior QS role but still take ownership and drive results on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial and financial aspects of up to 30 live projects
- Prepare and submit applications for payment
- Price and manage project variations
- Produce and analyse Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
- Lead procurement activity and supply chain engagement
- Liaise directly with site and operational teams to ensure accurate forecasting
- Handle contracts and commercial documentation independently
Candidate Profile
- Strong Quantity Surveying background with experience running projects end-to-end
- Comfortable working standalone, with minimal supervision
- Excellent knowledge of procurement, commercial contracts, and cost control
- Experience across mechanical, electrical, and commercial scopes
- Open to candidates without data centre experience β transferable skills welcome
- Must be permanently based on site (5 days a week in Cuffley)
- Options to travel for those that would like to.
