About the Role: We are seeking four organised and proactive Safeguarding Business Support Officers to join Wakefield Families Together. You will play a crucial role in supporting senior managers, social work teams and professionals working to protect and support children, young people and families across Wakefield. This is an office-based role where accuracy, confidentiality and resilience are vital due to the sensitive and often emotive nature of the work.
Key Duties:
- Minute taking at multi-agency safeguarding meetings.
- Reception duties and handling telephone calls from the public and internal colleagues.
- Booking rooms, arranging meetings and supporting the Family Time service.
- Financial administration tasks including ordering supplies and processing invoices.
- Providing general administrative support, including maintaining and updating social care recording systems.
- Delivering excellent customer care to service users, partners and colleagues.
What We Are Looking For:
- Excellent customer care and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential and sometimes distressing information with integrity and professionalism.
- Knowledge of Data Protection, confidentiality and safeguarding principles.
- Confidence using IT systems, especially Microsoft Office and social care databases.
Essential Requirements:
- 4 GCSEs (Grade C/5 or above) including English and Maths (or equivalent).
- ICT qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience of minute taking and working in an administrative/customer service role.
- Ability to travel to other sites across Wakefield if required.
Additional Information:
- You must be resilient, with the emotional strength to work with safeguarding and child protection information on a daily basis.
- This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check. You will receive full training, including safeguarding awareness.
