We are looking for a mechanical project manager for a new build commercial development in Watford, mech package worth £5m, overseeing direct labour, subbies and temp labour. Monday to Friday, occasional weekends, and rates up to £350+ per day.

Projects typically across the commercial sector including Health care, Education, Commercial, Local Authorities, Government, Industrial, Leisure, Public Defence and Retail. Due to an ongoing upturn and increase in works they require a mechanical project manager to join the team and work on their site in Watford.

The successful candidate will manage the project based on site but in the office, liaising with the end client. Responsibilities will include:

  • Site sign in
  • Daily diary
  • RAMS
  • Populate and issue Pipework materials take offs
  • Labour requirements
  • Toolbox talks
  • Plant registers
  • Quality Assurance / Inspections
  • Wall / Ceiling Sign Offs
  • PUWER / PASMA Sign offs
  • Progress Reports
  • Programmes
  • Procurement Planning
  • RFI's
  • On Site Coordination
  • Site Meetings
  • Dealing with sub-contractors - BMS, Vent, Insulation etc
  • Commissioning - Planning, programme, coordination.
  • Preparing variations for the Contracts manager
  • Design information reviews
  • Weekly/fortnightly project reviews with contracts managers
  • Multi-tasking across disciplines
  • Good understanding of Excel, Word etc
  • As built drawings
  • Technical Submittals
  • Health & Safety Enforcement
  • Using 4Projects

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum 2 Years' Experience in managing mechanical packages in the commercial sector
  • Degree preferred but not essential
  • SMSTS or SSSTS qualified
  • Must be computer literate - Minimum Word, Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project
  • 1st aid advantageous but not essential
