Job Description: As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the classroom teacher to provide tailored support to students with ASD, ensuring they have access to a meaningful and inclusive education and contributing towards improving their learning outcomes with tailored and individualised support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and implementation of highly-tailored lesson plans for students with SEND.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them with their academic, social and emotional development.
- Adapt learning materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Support students in developing independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being, implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviours.
- Assist with classroom activities, ensuring all students are engaged and included.
Qualifications:
- A passion for working with children and a commitment to supporting students with special educational needs.
- Previous experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
