We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Locum Practice Nurse to join a friendly and supportive GP practice team in Sunderland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled nurse looking to work in a dynamic primary care setting on a flexible locum basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing routine nursing care to patients including wound care, immunisations, travel vaccines, cervical cytology (smears), and health screenings.
- Chronic disease management (e.g. asthma, diabetes, hypertension).
- Assisting in the management of long-term conditions in collaboration with GPs.
- Maintaining accurate patient records using clinical systems (e.g., EMIS, SystmOne, or Vision).
- Promoting health education and disease prevention.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC PIN.
- Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse in a GP surgery or primary care setting.
- Competent in all standard treatment room duties and chronic disease management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
