Graduate Sales Engineer role for established global manufacturing business; HQ in Buxton, Derbyshire. Would suit a recent engineering graduate or someone with 1-2 years experience. Working with a small, friendly team, this role supports the Global Sales Manager and BD Manager with quotes and projects; involves international travel to trade fairs in both Europe and further afield (China and USA). Competitive benefits package including an early 12pm finish on a Friday.
The role will involve learning and promoting the full range of product offers, including low energy consumption instantaneous flow through heater hot water devices, bi-metal controls, connectors and modules used in the domestic appliance industry and bespoke OEM product developments utilising our technology and in line with customer requirements. The Graduate Sales Engineer will be supported by the existing sales team based in Buxton as well as the wider global sales teams based in Europe and the Far East.
Core Duties:- Provide support to the existing sales team, dealing with new enquiries and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Provide technical support to both new and existing customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers as well as relevant internal stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements, produce relevant market reports to help aid and define the future product development strategy.
- Collaborate with technology and innovation / product development teams across various group sites, to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Prepare customer specific documents and presentations.
- Attend customer meetings, both online and face-to-face.
- Attend various trade shows in Europe, North America and Far East.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Ideally with Business) or a closely related discipline. The preferred class of degree is an upper second minimum.
- Strong understanding of engineering concepts and principles.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain technical ideas and concepts to both a technical and non-technical audience.
- Self-motivated, self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities and able to work under own initiative.
- Willingness to travel.
- Nominal 38 hour week
- Minimum of 33 days annual holiday – including Bank Holidays etc.
- Driving Licence required
