As a Safety Consultant in 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T), you'll play a vital role in shaping your projects. Working alongside talented colleagues you'll provide technical analysis of designs and processes and lead key presentations. Working closely with clients, you'll be trusted to develop and implement strategies to solve their most complex problems.

Your Purpose:

We seek senior consultants with a strong understanding of the Defence market to provide guidance and direction in developing aviation certification, airworthiness, and safety management solutions for our clients. You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic, eager to learn and develop new skills, and with professional qualities. You will provide guidance and direction in developing safety management solutions, working on aviation related projects with the opportunity to inspire and be inspired by colleagues across the UK and the globe. Using your expertise in Safety Critical Systems Engineering, you'll consider both organisational and physical systems, ensuring that people, equipment, and the environment are protected from unnecessary harm.

The role includes:

  • Leadership of major safety management assignments.
  • Developing safety, airworthiness, technical evaluation and certification reports, presentations and other artefacts.
  • Assurance of work undertaken by project teams.
  • Support to winning new work.
  • Providing a vision of future needs to support the development of our capability to serve our clients and expand our business.
  • Understanding and application of ASPIRE and the Air Engineer's Toolkit.
  • Understanding and application of military aviation hazard/accident/risk management.
  • Experience of developing Safety Assessment Reports.
  • Experience in at least one of the following tools: (i) Air System Loss Models; (ii) BowTies; and/or (iii) GSN/CAE.
  • Proven track record of developing Safety Management solutions at enterprise, platform or at system level.
  • Develop innovative Safety Management solutions to support operations.
  • Able to build sustainable relationships with clients and develop future business opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the role, including the preparation and presentation of reports to both internal and external clients.
  • Good understanding of the Aerospace & Defence and wider markets.
  • Chartered/Incorporated Engineer or equivalent or working towards it.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the safety and air engineering disciplines and related disciplines and their developments across varied markets including Defence.
  • Experience of conducting/supporting safety related techniques such as FHA, ZHA, FTA, ETA, FMECA and/or CBA.
  • Experienced in development of Airworthiness Strategies / Safety Management Plans.
  • Working Knowledge of Industry Standards and other Defence Standards such as Def Stan 00-056.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in wider markets and the ability to sell their related discipline capability to internal and external clients to those markets.
  • Membership of UK, EU or US professional societies/working groups, etc.
