Aeropeople have partnered with a global designer and manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices who are now looking to hire a permanent Manufacturing Engineer, to be based at their site in Stansted. The successful candidate would be expected to be on site 5 days per week.

The purpose of the role is to:
- Determine the repair & overhaul processes required to achieve workshop goals according to product specification.
- Work with operations to identify issues and opportunities; recommends solutions or enhancements.
- Plan and design methods to improve efficiency, train employees on new processes and methods.
- Improve equipment availability and capability by utilising continuous improvement tools and working cross functionally.
This role is working a 39 hour week. Hours of work are Monday- Thursday: 8am- 4.30pm and Friday: 8am- 4pm. A 9 day fortnight is available to those who want it.
Main Responsibilities:
- New Product Development (NPD):
- Undertake technical evaluation of the repair and overhaul of aircraft components and associated systems to deliver engineering solutions to the workshop.
- Reverse engineering of component assembly.
- Develop, evaluate and approve alternative equivalent tooling designs.
- Lead and/or support New Product Development (NPD) projects to deliver on time to budget.
- Produce detailed design documentation, drawings, and analysis to support project development.
- NPI - Support the creation of technical procedures for workshop guidance and the handover process from engineering to operations.
- Sustaining Engineering:
- Provide technical support during equipment breakdowns or non-conformances, including troubleshooting and root cause investigations.
- Oversee the maintenance of internal technical records.
- Design and/or upgrade of tooling and equipment within budget, capable of meeting component test specification parameters.
- Using industrial engineering methods to identify process standard hours and opportunities for improvement.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Support OpEx and change management initiatives at department, function and business levels. (Kaizens, GEMBA, 5S)
Benefits:
- Basic salary up to £55,000 dependent upon experience.

About You:
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and documentation.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations, including AS9100, CAA/EASA & FAA Part 145 and Part 21G.
- Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), able to build relationships at all levels, communicate technical information to different audiences and navigate cultural differences.
- Good organisation skills with a good eye for detail, able to manage own workload to meet deadlines, in a fast-paced and changeable environment.
- Strong organisational and project planning skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and innovative in approach.
- Focused on cost efficiency and working within set budgets.
- Good IT skills across MS Office and CAD, able to learn other company systems quickly.
