We’re working with one of London’s most forward-thinking main contractors to find an experienced Design Manager for a major new build-to-rent (BTR) development already underway in East London. This £80 million project will deliver around 200 high-quality new homes across a striking high-rise storey (20+) tower, forming the centrepiece of a wider regeneration plan in Barking. Alongside a restored and improved station, this scheme will create a new gateway into the town and will be offering a much-needed housing and long-term opportunity to the local community. The project is live on site, with completion scheduled for 2026, and now needs a strong design lead to take it through the next crucial stages.
What you’ll be joining:
- A well-established contractor with a reputation for delivering complex, design-led residential projects across London.
- A collaborative team with strong technical capability and leadership.
- A business that invests in long-term careers, not just short-term projects.
You’ll need:
- A main contractor background.
- Experience managing the design process on major residential or mixed-use schemes (RC frame/high-rise ideally).
- Strong coordination, communication, and consultant management skills.
- A proactive and practical approach to design resolution and delivery.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a visible, meaningful role on one of East London’s most talked-about regeneration projects. Please apply with your updated CV / portfolio below.
