We’re working on behalf of a forward-thinking facade specialist to recruit a Head of Design based at their Essex office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and growing business at the forefront of technical delivery in the built environment.

As Head of Design , you’ll be leading the technical function, overseeing the delivery of innovative, compliant, and buildable design solutions. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s design standards and strategy while driving technical excellence across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary design team to deliver project-specific and business-wide objectives
• Ensure designs are technically robust, buildable, and aligned with client and regulatory requirements
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement in materials, methods, and digital design tools
• Drive coordination between design, commercial, operations, and client teams to meet programme and quality expectations
• Set and uphold clear design standards, ensuring consistency and compliance across all workstreams

About You:

• Proven leadership in a senior design/technical role within construction, façade, or architectural sectors
• Strong working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction methodologies
• Excellent team management and stakeholder coordination experience
• A detail-focused, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to lead from the front
• Passionate about quality, innovation, and collaboration
