Land Based Deputy Head – Key Responsibilities: As Deputy Head, you will be instrumental in delivering an innovative and impactful curriculum, with a particular focus on all Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, and Welding provision across our study programmes, apprenticeships and adult learning. Your responsibilities will include: – Leading a talented delivery team to ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment – Collaborating with the Head of Faculty, Land based studies to implement a forward-thinking curriculum strategy – Driving quality assurance through performance reviews, student and staff feedback, and best-practice sharing – Supporting and developing staff through appraisals, professional development, and probation reviews – Monitoring student performance and progression, promoting a culture of achievement – Overseeing exam scheduling, cover arrangements, and timetabling to optimise resource efficiency – Playing a pivotal role in staff recruitment, self-assessment processes, and quality improvement plans Land Based Deputy Head – You: – A degree in Land-Based Studies- Agriculture, Land Based Engineering or a related field – A Level 5 teaching qualification (or equivalent) – Proven educational leadership experience, with a track record of driving quality – A strong commitment to inclusive education and student success – Outstanding communication, organisational, and decision-making skills – A genuine passion for animals, nature, and countryside education – An inspirational leadership style that motivates students and staff alike – A problem-solving mindset with a focus on innovation and impact This is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to shape the future of Land-Based education and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students and staff.
