Mechanical Engineer with experience in agricultural, plant, FLT, mining or similar required for a permanent position with a well-established business who have an excellent reputation.
You will be responsible for service and repair of both plant and agricultural machinery both in the workshop and on customer sites.
Your role will include:
- Repairing and maintaining agricultural & plant machinery such as diggers, tractors and combines
- Diagnosing repairing machinery faults, replacing broken parts
- Servicing including oil changes, bearings checks, tires, replacing belts, checking hoses, fluid levels etc.
- PPM in compliance with manufacturer specifications
- Travel to customers in the surrounding area to service and repair machinery
- Working on call on a rota basis
Requirements for Plant Fitter:
- Previous agricultural or plant maintenance experience
- Ideally welding and fabrication experience with knowledge of grinding and plasma cutting
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to use standard computer applications, internet, and manufacturer service portals
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Good customer service skills
- Familiar with manufacturer's products
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends on a rota basis
- Must be happy to work in cold wet and dirty conditions on a regular basis
- Full UK Driving licence
- Experience of driving tractors or plant is ideal
