Insight Executive Group are supporting a public sector client within Yorkshire to appoint an Estates Officer with an Electrical bias to their team. You MUST have a Low Voltage Authorised Persons qualification (APLV). Ideally, the client would like an interim to permanent solution, 3 months interim contract and then move onto a substantive post. The hourly rate is £28, paid via an Umbrella Company.
The Estates Officer (Electrical) will hold responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of electrical engineering services throughout the site. This includes all LV infrastructure, standby power including UPS, key systems, lighting, power, lifts and all other engineering services as designated by the Estates Operations Manager (Electrical) and the Head of Estates.
Main duties:
- Deputise for the Estates Operations Manager and other Estates Officers as required.
- Actively participate in the implementation, operation, and improvement of computer aided facilities management (CAFM) software, identifying and utilising methods to monitor work streams and gaps in compliance.
- Prepare reports on a wide range of subjects, such as response time analysis, compliance.
- Manage consultants, temporary technical staff, contractors, trade and operational staff within the department as required.
- Manage all directly employed staff, including all personnel issues, recruitment, grievance, disciplinary and capability matters.
- Manage engineering maintenance on a day to day basis, including dealing with operational incidents as and when they arise acting as AP for low voltage under HTM 06:02.
- Effectively diagnose engineering faults and initiate repairs including management of the CAFM system ensuring all departmental KPI and reactive works are completed within timescale and output reports are prepared for assurance meetings, operational meetings and SMT.
- Maintain records of all statutory requirements and services, so as to comply with relevant legislation, to include; evidence of PPM, evidence of reactive response times and resolution, Permit to Work systems, training etc.
The ideal candidate will:
- Degree Level Education and/or HNC qualification or equivalent experience.
- Asbestos Awareness qualification.
- Authorised Person qualification in: low voltage - Essential.
- Authorised Person qualification in decontamination, ventilation, medical gas pipeline systems, lifting equipment OR willingness to undertake and achieve such training within 12 months of appointment.
