Pay Scale: £13.08 - £14.62 per hour

The Role:

Education World is seeking a confident and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to support pupils in a school located in the DE22 area of Derby. This role focuses on working with students who may struggle with emotional regulation, social interaction, or behavioural challenges, helping them to re-engage with learning and build positive relationships in school.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people with behavioural needs, either in a school, mentoring, or youth work setting.
  • A calm and resilient approach to managing behaviour in a supportive and constructive way.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of behaviour strategies and restorative practices (preferred but not essential).
  • A passion for helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and improved emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-to-one or small group behaviour support to identified pupils.
  • Helping students manage their emotions and behaviour, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Supporting teachers with behaviour management strategies.
  • Building trusting relationships with pupils and acting as a positive role model.
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to behaviour support plans.
  • Supporting wider school inclusion and pastoral initiatives.
