The Role:
Education World is seeking a confident and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to support pupils in a school located in the DE22 area of Derby. This role focuses on working with students who may struggle with emotional regulation, social interaction, or behavioural challenges, helping them to re-engage with learning and build positive relationships in school.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with young people with behavioural needs, either in a school, mentoring, or youth work setting.
- A calm and resilient approach to managing behaviour in a supportive and constructive way.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of behaviour strategies and restorative practices (preferred but not essential).
- A passion for helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and improved emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing one-to-one or small group behaviour support to identified pupils.
- Helping students manage their emotions and behaviour, both in and out of the classroom.
- Supporting teachers with behaviour management strategies.
- Building trusting relationships with pupils and acting as a positive role model.
- Monitoring progress and contributing to behaviour support plans.
- Supporting wider school inclusion and pastoral initiatives.
