The predicted salary is between 30000 - 45000 £ per year.

We are currently looking to secure a Production Planner to work for our client on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will use the company’s ERP/MRP systems (SAGE 200/Preactor) to ensure efficient shop floor loading and OTIF customer delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the machines are loaded in the most efficient manner, being mindful of the importance of maintaining customer delivery dates.
  • Maintain daily tracking of all live works orders.
  • Produce monthly/weekly forward loading for each machine including manual operations (e.g. deburr, inspection, packing/despatch etc).
  • Ensure parts are physically moved to the next processes in an expedient manner.
  • Ensure all subcontract order requirements are allocated for purchasing in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all raw material is issued in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Bill of Materials (BOM) are up to date with set and cycle times accurately recorded.
  • Ensure all raw material and finished goods stocks are accurately and correctly issued to works orders.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies where opportunities exist.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards (ISO 13485).
  • Identify and troubleshoot production bottlenecks to improve efficiency.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs and production performance.
  • Prioritise workflow to ensure orders are completed monthly, meeting budgeted sales targets.
  • Raise purchase requisitions for sub contact operations.
  • Complete administration within SAGE200/Preactor.
  • Liaise with other departments as required and handle requests for information and data.
  • Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and respond positively to new and alternative systems.

The person/Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Production Planner in a fast paced manufacturing environment. (Essential)
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and process optimisation (Desirable)
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and quality control.
  • Excellent computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). SAGE200 experience desirable, however training will be given.
  • Educated to ‘A’-Level (or equivalent) or above.
