About the Company:

Our client is a fast-scaling digital platform for FTSE 350 board members and FTSE 100 executive committees. The platform provides a secure space for leaders to connect, collaborate, and access exclusive content, ranging from commercial NED opportunities to private video events and equity research. Backed by strong investment and commercial traction, the platform is now embedded across FTSE 100 firms and is continuing to expand rapidly.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Fractional CTO to provide strategic technical leadership and guide the development function at a critical stage in the company’s growth. You’ll work closely with a small but high-performing team (currently 5 people, including one technical member) to steer the transition from outsourced development to a fully in-house capability.

This is an ideal role for a senior technologist who thrives in early-stage environments, enjoys mentoring and high-level architecture decisions, and can commit approximately 20 hours per week. You’ll shape the future of a platform already used by some of the most senior leaders in the UK business landscape.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight for the entire technology stack.
• Oversee the transition from third-party to internal development operations.
• Take strategic ownership of codebase (Angular, Nest.js, PHP/Laravel, PostgreSQL).
• Guide DevOps best practices across AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology with business objectives.
• Establish best practices, scalable workflows, and technical documentation.
• Support and mentor internal developers, fostering a strong engineering culture.
• Make informed decisions on tools, frameworks, and platform direction.
• Ensure infrastructure and codebase are robust, maintainable, and scalable.

Tech Stack:

• Frontend: Angular (v19), TypeScript
• Backend: Nest.js (Node.js), PHP (Laravel)
• Database: PostgreSQL
• DevOps: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
• Version Control: Git

Requirements:

• 5+ years of full-stack development experience, including architectural leadership.
• Strong expertise in Angular, Nest.js, PHP, and PostgreSQL.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of strategic tech decisions.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Start-up or scale-up experience is highly desirable.
• Comfortable working part-time (~20 hours per week) with flexible scheduling.

Compensation and Benefits:
