Responsibilities

• Lead and govern multiple multi‑functional engineering teams.
• Ensure projects remain within budget and meet financial controls.
• Identify and mitigate risks to keep them at the lowest possible level.
• Own engineering resource planning and management.
• Track progress against milestones and adjust plans as needed.
• Seek opportunities to enhance project value and deliver technical excellence.
• Maintain technical and engineering quality throughout project delivery.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of leading successful, complex, technology‑focused projects.
• Act as a client‑facing subject‑matter expert, communicating effectively across all stakeholder levels.

Qualifications

• High National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND), Foundation Degree (FD) or Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.

Essential Skills

• Engineering Management experience.
• Project Management knowledge (critical‑path control, risk understanding).
• Hands‑on engineering background in Hardware, Software or Systems engineering.
• Full knowledge of the ‘V’ lifecycle.
• Strong leadership and management capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
• Stakeholder management.
• Resource and integrated business planning.

Desired Skills

• Experience in anti‑submarine warfare (surface and under‑water) and mine countermeasures.
• Background in defence, especially MOD experience and future‐service knowledge.
• Experience with Marine/Air defence projects.

Experience

• Engineering Management with problem‑solving focus.
• Systems Engineering, preferably with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Leadership and management of engineering teams.
• Resource and integrated business planning.

What Do I Need Before I Apply

• Security clearance (SC) already in place.
• Availability for on‑site work at least 3 days per week.
