DHLLegal Services offers all business partners worldwide solution-oriented legal advice. We provide comprehensive support in contracts, negotiations, and processes with customers and suppliers as well as in general litigation and commercial law matters. In a matrix organization, Legal Services is organized on the one hand according to regions and on the other hand according to global cross-sectional topics. We are looking for a full-time, inhouse, permanent UK based position with hybrid / remote working mode.
Job Purpose: Join our Legal Services team, a division within GBS (the in-house services arm of DHL), supporting the dedicated employment law team. The successful candidate will provide legal counsel, mitigate risks, and protect DHL's business interests in alignment with UK laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage DHL (DSC) Employment Tribunal Claims (Respondent), including assessing merits, drafting pleadings, and full case management.
- Prepare and handle counter schedules, lists of documents, electronic and paper bundles, witness statements, and instructions to counsel.
- Conduct advocacy for preliminary hearings (preferred).
- Provide comprehensive legal support in managing employment tribunal claims.
- Collaborate with HR and other key stakeholders on tribunal matters.
- Correspond with the employment tribunal service and relevant parties.
- Implement legal processes and procedures to align with business objectives while identifying risks and opportunities.
- Support litigation, arbitration, mediation, or disputes involving courts, government agencies, or other legal authorities.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification; UK-qualified solicitor (essential).
- Preferably a minimum of 3 years PQE as an employment law solicitor.
- Proven ability to manage full employment tribunal caseload, including both basic and complex claims.
- Ideally, experience in an in-house legal role in a large regional company.
- Commercially pragmatic, decisive, and confident in working autonomously.
- Strong stakeholder management and risk management skills.
- Ability to travel within the UK for meetings and conferences (full UK driving license required).
