Job Description:
- Check dishwashing machines thoroughly to see if detergents need replenishing.
- Send all soiled towels to the laundry and dry them.
- Assist in polishing silver and copperware.
- Keep work area clean, tidy, and dry at all times.
- Wash dishes as requested by the Steward Supervisor during banquet events.
- Maintain water level and temperature in the dishwashing machine, changing water every 2 hours.
- Follow correct procedures when handling machinery: wear rubber gloves, an apron, and a hair net when operating machines.
- Set up a decoy system before bringing soiled dishes into the kitchen; prepare a detergent container for soaking cutleries.
- Report any damaged, faulty, or misused equipment/machinery to the Steward Supervisor.
