Job Description
As a Power BI Dashboard Developer, you will be responsible for driving data-driven decisions within Chaucer by providing actionable insights and analysis. Your primary focus will be on improving the business intelligence infrastructure, developing advanced analytical models, and identifying key trends and opportunities to support strategic decision-making. You will collaborate with business users and cross-functional teams to gather and analyse data, create visualizations, and deliver data and reporting solutions that support business decisions and optimise processes.
Main Duties
- Understand how data informs business strategy and combine this understanding with data expertise to deliver new insights and incremental value.
- Create visually appealing and informative reports, dashboards, and presentations that effectively communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders.
- Regularly present findings to stakeholders, explaining the implications and potential impact on business strategies.
- Assist the business in the understanding of the use of data, which improves business decisions.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that provide valuable information to stakeholders.
- Develop data models to support decision making.
- Develop and implement analytical models and statistical techniques to uncover hidden patterns and predict future outcomes.
- Interpret and communicate data findings to non-technical stakeholders, translating data into actionable insights.
- Monitor and analyse data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop reports and visualisations to support decision making.
- Research new ways to use data, identify areas for improving processes and implement necessary solutions to optimise workflows.
- Participate in the selection and implementation of tools, software and best practices to support strategic goals.
- Be an ambassador for Data & Analytics, advocate for the data strategy, data skills and best practices.
- Be an advocate of data governance and ethical use of data and building trust with partners.
- Collaborate efficiently with different departments and business functions; proactively understand their data needs and provide insights.
- Maintain documentation of data processes, workflows and any assumptions made during analysis, for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Provide support for ad-hoc requests and projects, delivering solutions, insights and analysis as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various businesses and key support functions.
- Organisational and change management skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, and work independently, managing a high-volume of tasks and deadlines.
- Analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Problem-solving abilities; enjoy taking on difficult challenges and finding creative solutions.
- Relevant experience in a role requiring use of data analytics.
- Ability to provide bespoke insights off data analysis / modelling results.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python/R, and data visualization tools such as Tableau/ Power BI.
- Dashboarding experience, best practice for visualisations, UX and design.
- Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI, Snowflake Attacama, Fivetran or similar.
- Agile - Scrum/Kanban, sprint planning using JIRA, TFS, DevOps or similar.
- Experience with data quality monitoring, tooling selection and deployment.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus but not required.
