The Director of Nurse Recruitment is a key leader within the Talent Acquisition and Innovation Center of Expertise (CoE) for RWJBarnabas Health, responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of all recruitment strategies for registered nurses and ancillary nursing positions within the enterprise. The Director is a strategic partner to nursing leadership to drive and execute on talent acquisition strategies and initiatives supportive of full-cycle nurse recruitment. The Director will lead, support, empower and supervise nurse recruitment teams responsible for identifying, sourcing and hiring high-quality nurse professionals at all levels.

The Director will partner with key business stakeholders to understand business and talent priorities and develop strategies for recruitment activities to drive a strong pipeline of highly qualified and diverse candidates. The Director will improve recruitment transparency, business partnership and informed decision-making through implementation and reliance on effective and timely talent analytics.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in business, human resources management, or relevant field of study.
  • 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition, workforce strategy, and change management.
  • Knowledge of workforce development strategies (recruitment, development and retention).
  • Experience in full-cycle nursing recruitment, pipeline, and brand strategies.
  • Experience in large, complex, fast-paced environments managing technology, metrics, and process change efforts.
  • Ability to influence, lead with respect and compassion.
  • Strong planning, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proven experience leading high-performing, data-driven teams.
  • Proven leadership experience and track record of motivating and engaging staff and key senior leader stakeholders.
  • Experience with applicant tracking, CRM, HRIS, and/or customer tracking databases.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Reflects and models core behaviours aligned with RWJBH values.
  • Frames and translates the mission, vision and values of RWJBH into everyday work.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Prior nursing experience or clinical experience preferred, but not required.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and lead a highly motivated nurse recruitment team, collaborating with nursing leadership to develop short-term and long-term talent acquisition strategies.
  • Develop and implement innovative, efficient and effective strategies for key divisions of talent acquisition.
  • Design, implement, and execute full-cycle, proactive recruitment strategies.
  • Drive team and individual accountability as it relates to recruitment strategies.
  • Provide strategic leadership, guidance, and direction for the nurse recruitment team.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and functional expert to nursing leadership.
  • Build and execute on improvement strategies enhancing overall recruitment effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Evaluate candidate experience and provide tactics for improvement.
  • Partner and collaborate with nursing leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Set standards for a high performing, collaborative, and diverse talent acquisition team.
  • Recruit, assess, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Create and sustain a recruitment team driven by data and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure the talent acquisition teams consistently execute the defined process.
  • Support the VP of Talent Acquisition and Innovation on budgetary accountability and operational excellence.
  • Pursue knowledge of industry trends, benchmarks, and opportunities.
  • Work in partnership with nursing leadership and the communications and marketing team.
  • Develop content and facilitate training for the recruitment team.
  • Support RFP initiatives related to recruitment applications and technology.
