Position Details
- Location: London/hybrid
- Hours: Full-time 35 hours/week (part-time considered)
- Salary: ÂŁ53,300 per annum, plus generous benefits
- Contract: 12 months fixed-term contract (possible extension)

The Role
Join an independent What Works Centre, funded by a core grant from the Department for Education, with additional funding from other governmental departments and philanthropic bodies. We seek a contract manager to work within the Operations team, supporting grant giving and contracting functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review and consolidate existing grant and service agreement templates, ensuring compliance.
- Prepare internal guidance on using the contract templates.
- Develop and maintain a register of agreed variations to standard T&Cs.
- Advise on due diligence processes and legal considerations for collaborations with partners such as charities, research institutes, universities, local authorities, and government departments.
- Support project teams in establishing agreements for new grants and services.
- Assist project teams with existing agreements.
- Provide organisation-wide training on standard T&Cs and contract management.
- Develop robust, future-proof contracting processes to ensure ongoing compliance and best practices.
- Act as the main contact with external legal advice providers.
- Work with the finance team to ensure funding disbursements comply with agreements and legal requirements.
About You
You will have a law (or similar) degree, with experience in contract law and contracting within a not-for-profit or grant-making environment.
