Job Purpose
As part of an exciting company expansion, Designer Group is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor/Site Manager to join our On-Site Department.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Project Management to understand all of Designer Group's responsibilities on the project as outlined in the project documentation.
- Be familiar with the project programme, including handover dates, milestones, and critical paths.
- Ensure compliance with Safety and Health Regulations and company policies, insisting on observed standards.
- Implement and monitor safe systems of work.
- Ensure all relevant H&S paperwork is completed for each task.
- Coordinate with the M&E Co-ordinator and the Project team on-site activities.
- Liaise with staff and subcontractors to monitor progress according to the project programme.
- Induct subcontractors onto the site.
- Monitor safe work practices, PPE usage, and proper material management.
- Address safety violations and take necessary actions.
- Collaborate with the EHS Department to maintain site safety and action audits.
- Work with the Mechanical QA/Commissioning Manager to ensure high-quality execution, including snagging and punch list management.
- Maintain communication with the Main Contractor via daily meetings, recording all agreed items.
- Manage material orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Verify subcontractors have appropriate safety and training certifications.
- Coordinate temporary power supply with the Main Contractor.
- Support apprentices and oversee their training in accordance with company policies.
- Issue work permits (e.g., Hot Works, Ladder) prior to work commencement.
- Maintain and return plant records weekly.
- Adhere to Designer Group Policies and Procedures daily.
Your Education & Experience
Minimum of 5+ years of trade experience and at least 2+ years in a supervisory role.
Your Skills & Competencies
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
