Job Purpose

As part of an exciting company expansion, Designer Group is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor/Site Manager to join our On-Site Department.

Your Key Responsibilities

1. Work closely with Project Management to understand all of Designer Group\’s responsibilities on the project as outlined in the project documentation.
2. Be familiar with the project programme, including handover dates, milestones, and critical paths.
3. Ensure compliance with Safety and Health Regulations and company policies, insisting on observed standards.
4. Implement and monitor safe systems of work.
5. Ensure all relevant H&S paperwork is completed for each task.
6. Coordinate with the M&E Co-ordinator and the Project team on-site activities.
7. Liaise with staff and subcontractors to monitor progress according to the project programme.
8. Induct subcontractors onto the site.
9. Monitor safe work practices, PPE usage, and proper material management.
10. Address safety violations and take necessary actions.
11. Collaborate with the EHS Department to maintain site safety and action audits.
12. Work with the Mechanical QA/Commissioning Manager to ensure high-quality execution, including snagging and punch list management.
13. Maintain communication with the Main Contractor via daily meetings, recording all agreed items.
14. Manage material orders to ensure timely delivery.
15. Verify subcontractors have appropriate safety and training certifications.
16. Coordinate temporary power supply with the Main Contractor.
17. Support apprentices and oversee their training in accordance with company policies.
18. Issue work permits (e.g., Hot Works, Ladder) prior to work commencement.
19. Maintain and return plant records weekly.
20. Adhere to Designer Group Policies and Procedures daily.

Your Education & Experience

• Minimum of 5+ years of trade experience and at least 2+ years in a supervisory role.

Your Skills & Competencies

• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
