Technology plays a key role in enabling our operations, and we are now looking for a strategic and hands-on Head of IT to lead our technology function as we continue to grow and innovate. About The Role As Head of IT, you will take full ownership of our technology infrastructure, systems, and strategy. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery, support, and evolution of our systems across all locations. This is a critical role that ensures our stores, back-office operations, and customer-facing technologies run smoothly, securely, and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and execute a scalable IT roadmap aligned with Bayley & Sage\’s business objectives and growth plans. Identify and implement digital tools and systems that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and data-driven decision-making. Champion innovation, introducing automation and integration solutions where appropriate. Monitor technology trends and propose improvements to maintain competitiveness. Infrastructure & Systems Management Oversee the IT infrastructure across all stores and head office, including networks, hardware, and cloud systems (Azure). Ensure all business systems (EPOS, Xero, Adyen, etc.) are fully operational, updated, and secure. Manage and improve system integrations across platforms such as Apicbase, Bizimply, MyPOS, MX, Vimcar, and iHASCO. Maintain PCI DSS compliance and ensure IT security protocols are up-to-date and enforced. Operational Oversight Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers. Manage hardware and software procurement, licensing, and asset tracking. Oversee data protection, disaster recovery plans, and ensure robust backup systems are in place. Ensure the successful delivery of IT projects including software rollouts, infrastructure upgrades, and store openings. User Support & Training Oversee helpdesk support and ensure a positive, solution-oriented IT support culture across the business. Provide guidance, documentation, and training for employees across departments on new systems and updates. Improve internal IT knowledge base and ensure ongoing user engagement with digital tools. Budgeting & Vendor Management Manage IT budgets effectively, ensuring cost control and value from technology investments. Lead vendor negotiations and contract management for IT products and services. Requirements Proven experience in an IT leadership role, ideally within a multi-site retail, hospitality, or FMCG business. Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure), EPOS systems, and business platforms (Xero, Adyen, Office365, etc.). Experience with system integrations and automation tools to connect business platforms. Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data protection (GDPR), and compliance standards. Ability to communicate complex IT concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Experience managing IT projects and leading small technical teams. Hands-on approach, willing to step in when needed.
