The Job Role:

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and motivated General Manager responsible for all aspects of growing, storage, grading, and trading activities within this agricultural business.

Location:

Northeast Scotland

Salary Package:

£60,000 – £75,000 Basic Salary + Vehicle (package open to discussion for the right candidate).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of five full-time staff and up to twenty agency/temporary staff.
• Oversee production planning to facilitate early harvest and shipment to export markets.
• Coordinate with landlords to secure suitable land for production targets.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets.
• Manage machinery procurement and replacement planning.
• Ensure accurate stock and inventory management.
• Oversee facilities management, including 7,000 tonnes of storage and grading capacity.
• Market seed varieties and ware as necessary.
• Collaborate with the wider team to meet production and quality targets.

Candidate Requirements:

• Knowledge of potato agronomy, crop production, and storage is desirable.
• Understanding of modern machinery.
• People management experience.
• Seed knowledge and experience.
